Not really sure why, but it’s been shit. Woke up today in a terrible mood. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! Almost took the M3 to work, but then I remembered that my ID was in my 3 and I didn’t want to come back to my apartment to put the 3 keys back; I should’ve just taken the M3. Work was going alright until the operators fucked up something and I had just enough parts to fix it, then proceeded to deny what they did. Then when I was lapping down blades on the lathe, one shattered and I damaged several more while taking it off the lathe. I was just done at this point. I might be able to salvage something tomorrow, but at that point I was done for the day. I also tried to overnight something to fix a problem we have yesterday to discover today, at 3 PM, that I forgot to put my department number on it, so they didn’t send it. Just been in a garbage mood today, so I stopped at total wine on the way home and got this 1.5L bottle of Bordeaux. I’m really hoping tomorrow will be a better day.

I’m alright. My friend called me when I got home, no other reason than the fact that he was driving and we talk when one of us does that. That was a positive. I also work with other engineers I get along with, so that really helps.

Sorry to hear that. Just keep your chin up. I’ve barely kept it together myself this week with parts being delayed, items out of stock because no one bother to let anyone know, items that we don’t have right now because what we had on hand was destroyed over the weekend, and finding out that a part we need has a 5 week lead time. And 22.5 hours at the office today and yesterday combined.
Oh and a coworker threw a hissy fit today because I threw his trash talking right back in his face in front of the team. All that bravado and he was instantly crushed and pissed off because he was too busy running his mouth and mistakenly thought I called him stupid.
I made myself a bloody mary. One is enough.

It helps. It won’t cure the root cause but you’ll do good things that will keep you busy and make you reframe your challenges

Im fixing up my parents old house and I dumped half a bucket of paint on the new floor, trying to save the molding, but its all falling apart and have to buy new. At least once the paint is dry it should peel off... I hope :(

Process work has a habit of really affecting one’s day, IMO. On top of some small things, I’ve been spending a lot of time trying to optimize the burners on my reactors to improve cycle times. Turns out our operators have been secretly adding water after the reaction starts, so it doesn’t matter if I make them run faster because they will just add water to make everything take longer (so they can be lazy). But they’ll deny it, much like yours. Frustrating to find this out after spending A lot of time on this.
